Just the facts, ma'am
I am the author of the following non-fiction books:
I am the editor and designer of A Hotel for Polly: How you can help our native bees, a book for 7-10 year olds, with notes for parents and teachers, published by Western Water.
Dot and the Extra Dimensions is my manuscript for a pull-the-tab, lift-the-flap, pop-up book for junior primary school children:
Dot is a lonely point in the universe. Will a sociable line ever pass through? Can she find a friend with depth? This humorous story explores the mathematical concept of dimensions. It won the 2012 CYA Competition for unpublished non-fiction picture book manuscripts.
A Gift from HMAS Sydney is my manuscript for a picture book for primary school children:
My grandfather, Captain Joseph Burnett, is at the centre of the mystery and controversy surrounding the sinking of HMAS Sydney in 1941. Based on my mother's experience, this story explores both the immediate and ongoing effects of the disaster on my family, from a child's perspective.
What is it that we human beings
ultimately depend on?
We depend on our words.
We are suspended in language.
Our task is to communicate
experience and ideas to others.
