The Demon Bells
... was shortlisted for the 2017 Ampersand Prize. The Demon Bells is the first part of my unpublished speculative fiction trilogy for young adults. It combines action and romance, science and supernature, music and martial arts, cheese and pickles, religion and politics, betrayal and death, ice in the desert and burning bridges (literal and figurative).
Excerpts from my manuscript - originally titled Freqs of Nature, now retitled The Demon Bells - have achieved success in three other national competitions. The judges' comments included:
The manuscript for The Demon Bells is complete at 70,000 words. My writers' group, beta readers and a professional manuscript assessor helped me to polish it.
